This spectacular narrow-body, fuel injected V8 Volante is one of 65 cars imported into North America in 1989 the last and best year of this model. This is one of approximately four narrow body cars imported in 1989 that was originally fitted with the 6-speed manual ZF gear box. This is a true collectors grade car, dont be taken in by one of the hot-rodded automatic to manual conversion cars that come to market all too often. VIN 15726 is finished in its original Litchfield Black paint. It has only 27,800 miles from new and has been serviced by us for the past 8 years. The convertible top and entire interior have been replaced, using the correct original materials. The car is completely un-modified from new with the exception of a free-flowing factory original European exhaust and fitment of the very attractive European Bumpers. This car has the original Owners manual, tools and the almost impossible to find fitted luggage. Of the 65 total Aston Martins imported in 1989, many were the 4-door Lagonda and the unfortunately styled V8 Vantage wide-body, a popular car at the time, but one that has not stood the test of time like the more elegant narrow-body car. Prince Charles shared this view - when Aston Martin built his car he asked for mildly flared wheel arches, eschewing the spoilers and side skirts of the wide-body cars. The vast majority of cars were imported into North America with the Chrysler 727 3-speed automatic transmission, very few were fitted with the manual gearbox, the rarest iteration of those being the more conservative narrow-body cars.
